Oregano has been used for centuries, ever since the Greek and Roman time. The leaves are commonly used for food but can also be made into oil alongside its flowering buds. This Mediterranean herb is usually found in mountainous regions, until it was propagated by Europeans travelling to other parts of the world. In fact, the name oregano means “joy of the mountains”. As a truly wonderful herbal remedy, it brings joy not only in the mountains but as an herb fit for both your kitchen and medicine cabinet.
