Formerly known as the “Forbidden Fruit”, the Grapefruit is an accidental hybrid of sweet orange and pomelo native to the Barbados. It was once an unidentified evergreen tree until its sweet and sour-tasting fruits were tasted by an American entrepreneur who brought it to commercial success. Grapefruit contains cooling and astringent properties for reviving, refreshing, and uplifting the mind. It is also made up of high vitamin content which helps optimize a healthy immune system and prevention from infectious diseases. Today, the former “Forbidden Fruit” is now considered as one of the “Seven Wonders of Barbados”.

Children over 6 years & Elderly:

1% dilution (1 drop of Grapefruit oil per teaspoon of carrier oil; 6 drops per ounce)

Adults:

2% dilution (2 drops of Grapefruit oil per teaspoon of carrier oil; 12 drops per ounce)

Diffusion:

Use 3-4 drops in the diffuser for a natural, energizing mood boost while lowering blood pressure and curbing hunger cravings.

Topical:

Apply 2-3 drops of oil diluted with carrier oil on the abdomen or muscles to ease pain.

NOTE: Topical use – always dilute with carrier oil

Cautions:

  • Dilute with a carrier oil to minimize skin sensitivity especially for children.
  • Avoid direct contact of sunlight after application.
  • Use oil in aromatherapy only when advised by a health care provider.
